Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment uses concentrated pulses of light to even out skin tone and reduce tiny broken blood vessels and other color irregularities. This technology specifically targets reds and browns in the skin.
IPL is a great technology to get rid of AGE SPOTS, RED BLOTCHES, and tiny spider veins.  This laser causes these areas to lighten and many times to totally disappear!
What can I expect?
This easy in-office treatment lasts up to one hour and feels like a warm rubber band snap. A chiller is used to blow cold air over the area to be treated to make the treatment more comfortable. There is no downtime, although you may look and feel like you have a mild sunburn for a day or two.  Over the course of the next 7-10 days, the pigmented areas will become darker and move to the surface of the skin and be sloughed off.
How many treatments will I need?
Everyone responds a little differently to this treatment.  Usually a series of 2-3 treatments is necessary for full benefit.  Each treatment tends to pull out more pigment as the laser power is gradually increased in intensity. For small red lesions and veins, often only one treatment is necessary.
What areas can be treated?
The most common treatment areas are the face, chest, and hands.  Tiny red spots (capillary hemangiomas) and tiny spider veins can be treated anywhere on the body if the underlying skin is not tanned or dark.
